        Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is proof of COVID-19 vaccination required to attend?
A: No, local policies do not require proof of vaccination or other tests.
Q: Does NBEA have a refund policy regarding Covid-19?
A: NBEA will issue a full refund with documentation of a positive COVID-19 test. Otherwise, standard refund policies apply. Hotel cancellations should be addressed directly through Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile.
Q: With COVID-19 going away, why is this convention still hybrid?
A: The ability for teachers to travel is still tenuous and expected to be so for the future. NBEA wants to make its programming available to as many members as possible regardless of whether they can travel.
Q: Is the 212 Leadership Training the same as last year or is it different?
A: The content will be different in 2022 from last year. Each year NBEA focuses on different and needed areas of leadership development for our state, regional, and national leaders.
Q: Is the awards lunch included in the registration fee, I had to pay extra in the past?
A: Yes, the awards and leadership recognition luncheon is included in your registration fee so come and enjoy.
Q: How can I save money?
A: Take advantage of early bird pricing.  The attendees that pay the most to attend are the ones that register past deadlines.  There are also numerous ways to obtain economical meals while in Chicago.  Others have applied to be session attendants which cover all hotel and registration fees. If the link to apply as a session attendant no longer appears in the upper portion of this page, the deadline for applying has past.  Take the train from the airport into Chicago. Chicago's train service from O'Hare or Midway airports into downtown is a quality and dependable way to move about.  Uber or cab service from the airports into town could cost as much as $50 or more depending on area activity.  The train is only about $5 one way. Get directions via train from either airport to the hotel here.
