Brewing Success: An Experiential Guide to Starting a School Coffee Shop

Brew success through experience! Join two college educators who partnered with a local CTE educator at a rural school to establish a coffee shop. The webinar is tailored for secondary CTE teachers eager for their classes to explore entrepreneurship through the experiential journey of opening a business.

The session will walk one through planning, launching, and running a successful coffee shop within the confines of your school. Measurable outcomes include

(a) development of a basic business plan, i.e. name, target audience, and menu;

(b) calculation of startup costs; and

(c) design of a customer experience strategy.

Presenter

Lorie Pettus JonesDr. Lorie Pettus Jones is a native Tennessean with over 25 years of engineering and management experience in industry. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management of Engineering and Technology. Dr. Jones is the Director of the MBA program and Associate Professor of Business at the University of Tennessee Southern.
