Best Doctoral Dissertation Award
Each year the Council for Business Teaching and Research (post-secondary business instructors and professors) recognizes a top recent Ph.D., Ed.D., Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) or other business-related doctoral graduate by presenting a Best Dissertation Award.
The recipient of the Council Business Teaching and Research Dissertation Award receives a beautiful award at the 2024 National Business Education Association and CBTR Convention , and recognition in social media.
Anyone who has been awarded a doctorate in a business-related discipline between January 1 and December 31 of the year prior is eligible for the award.
Whether you are full-time or part-time faculty, have not yet joined the professorate, or hold a job outside of the professorate, all are welcome to submit your dissertation.
Research Conference Best Paper Awards CBTR's Business Education Research Conference (BERC) is held each spring in conjunction with the convention of the National Business Education Association (NBEA). Presentation proposals
are due by October 1 each year, and a review panel determines the best papers in two categories: (1) empirical research and (2) innovative instructional practices. Best papers are chosen from presentations made at the BERC. Those submitting
a proposal for the BERC are automatically nominated for this award.

scholarship, leadership, and cooperation among professionals in education for business through leadership at the national level. MAKE A NOMINATION NOW
Q: Can someone nominate themselves for an award? A: Someone can ask another member to nominate them, but self nominations are not accepted.
Q: What do I have to do to nominate someone? A: Complete form at the link below.
If you don't have ALL the background material on a person you want to nominate, don't worry, just complete the required portion of the nomination form and press submit. Note: it would be best to communicate with the nominee first to ensure they are
an NBEA member and that they are willing to receive the award. If NBEA received a partial nomination with no supporting documentation, NBEA will then contact the nominee, ensure they are eligible and an active NBEA member. NBEA will then request they
provide the additional information via the online form to complete the nomination. The process has never been easier.
Q: Do I have to travel to the convention to receive the award? A: No, we have to be more flexible due to potential
travel restrictions. However we do request you be available to receive the award virtually, with a camera at minimum.
Q: What do I get if I win? A: An attractive award (crystal or plaque), photo posted at convention, and in the Business
Education Forum, your name listed on the NBEA website for posterity as a recipient, something awesome to put on your resume, and a great honor from your peers.
