Partner with NBEA: A Gateway to Meaningful Corporate Responsibility and Personal Finance Education
At the National Business Education Association (NBEA), we champion the
transformative force of education. Our core mission revolves around
empowering both educators and students to attain excellence in the realm
of business. Today, we are thrilled to unveil an innovative initiative
designed to forge partnerships between influential corporations or
non-profits and NBEA. Through this collaboration, we aim to bridge the
gap between organizations and the pressing educational needs of students
and teachers alike.
What Do Teachers Need?
Educational
research underscores the pivotal role of personal finance instruction
in shaping students' ability to make responsible financial decisions
throughout their lives. According to a recent report
by consulting firm Tyton Partners and Next Gen Personal Finance,
completing a one-semester course in personal finance can yield a
lifetime benefit of roughly $100,000 per student. This underscores the
profound impact of financial literacy education.
NBEA's
approach to personal finance education is distinct and taken from the
perspective of the teacher. While a plethora of personal finance
curricula exists for teachers, what remains lacking are high-quality,
targeted learning modules and activities on specific topics such as insurance, real estate, banking, payroll and more.
Teachers
don't require more generalized curriculum; rather, they seek versatile
learning tools that can seamlessly integrate into their existing curriculum. NBEA
teachers have identified immediate needs in their classrooms, ranging
from online learning modules to engaging assessments, particularly in
key areas such as:
- Banking
- Concepts like commercial
banking, investment banking, CDs, role of the Fed, and more.
Simultaneously students can prepare for potential careers in banking recognizing your brand in the process.
- Payroll -
Engaging lessons and simulations about how payroll works including
deductions, taxes, and more. Every student should make sense of their
first paycheck stub.
- Insurance - From renters' insurance to life insurance, students need a quality understanding of how insurance affects them.
- Real Estate -
Real estate is consistently one of the biggest purchases a person will
make in their lifetime, students need increased knowledge to make
quality decisions about how to purchase and sell real estate real
estate.
Why Partner with NBEA?
NBEA offers:
- Tailored Educational Solutions Targeted on Specific Educational Needs: NBEA
works with top tier educational
developers to create custom educational
tools that address current business trends and educational needs with a
direct connection to the middle school to post-secondary business
classrooms.

and educational materials, gaining positive visibility among educators
and students alike.
- Connection with Educators:
Through NBEA, we offer a direct channel to engage with business teachers
and schools, ensuring that your contributions make a tangible
difference.
- Business teachers are asking for help
to develop engaging educational tools that help them teach in-depth
concepts associated with financial literacy. Teachers do not have the
resources to develop the educational tools they need (simulations,
videos, creative learning modules, and more). So teachers know what
they need, now they need your help funding the specific tools they can
use to help their students.
- NBEA is a trusted non-profit organization of
more than 13,500 business teachers that has affected business education
for more than a century. NBEA teachers inspire and work with more than
a million students every year.
- Enhanced Corporate Responsibility Scores: Your
collaboration with us directly boosts your corporate responsibility
profile. By investing in education, you're not just meeting your CSR
objectives; you're shaping a brighter future.
- Direct Impact on Education:
Partner with NBEA to develop cutting-edge educational tools that will
be used by thousands of students and educators. These resources, funded
by your generous sponsorship, will be instrumental in helping students
and teachers grasp critical business concepts.
- Visible and Measurable Commitment to Education: Your
support will be publicly acknowledged, showcasing your organization's
commitment to educational excellence and community development.
NBEA
partners with top educational instructional designers and developers to
create tools teachers use in the classroom with your organizations
branding prevalent. NBEA also offers scholarships for students and
teacher professional development for each program has funding allows.
Your Organization's Impact
Your organization's partnership with NBEA enables us to:
- Equip business teachers with innovative teaching tools and resources they directly use in their classroom.
- Enhance the quality of business education, preparing students for the challenges of tomorrow.
- Foster a generation of well-informed, responsible business professionals.
- Provide scholarships that engage students, teachers, and generation of business leaders.
How Much Support Does NBEA Need to Help?
It
depends on the scope of resources available from the partner. For
example, a comprehensive program that provides teaching resources,
scholarships, teaching aids, competitive competition with the nation's
largest student organizations and more could cost over a million
dollars. While, providing a few learning modules that assist teachers
and are made available to students free could be offered for far less.
The best course is set a range of resources available and the frequency
of the grants. Then NBEA and the partner can determine the best course
and prescription for making the biggest impact.
Who Has NBEA Partnered With? A Success Story

In 2022, Discover Financial Services, Inc
provided a generous five year grant to develop outstanding teaching
resources for students in personal finance courses. NBEA promotes the
program and increases the impact by introducing these free materials to
teachers for integration into the courses. NBEA's partner in the
development of the tools was Discovery Education whose
knowledge of instructional design and unbounded creativity developed
simulations, learning modules, teachers' guides, videos and more that
assist teachers in offering standards based learning opportunities in a
creative and fun way, all at no cost to the school or students.
NBEA
seeks to expand our partnerships into more in-depth areas of the
personal finance curriculum and serve teachers with that they need and
are asking for. The impact of the program has resulted in tens of
thousands of students learning more about how to manage their money and
other areas of personal finance. The program home page can be found at https://nbea.org/pathway
