An event to provide a survival guide to help new teachers flourish. This event is FREE to NBEA members and registered guests. Teachers who verify they are in their first year teaching and attend the entire one-hour event will receive a complimentary NBEA membership for one year. Each "Survival Guide" event is unique, so even if you have been before, you are welcome to return. Experienced teachers are encouraged to attend to share invaluable wisdom and leadership skills.

This event is designed to provide a survival guide for new teachers. The first and second year of teaching can be the toughest on new teachers. That is why NBEA is bringing together veteran teachers to provide indispensable tips and tricks that can bring peace, success, and a sense of satisfaction in the classroom. First-year teachers that have never taught before who attend get their first-year NBEA membership complimentary! During this session, new teachers attending will: - Identify major pitfalls of teaching in the first year and how to avoid them.
- Recognize classroom management tricks that will help take stress off and maximize learning.
- Learn valuable tips for self-care and stress management during the first years of teaching.
- Gain valuable support from peers.
