NBEA is calling for nominations for President-elect and Secretary Treasurer.
The president-elect shall have served as a voting member of the NBEA Executive Board for at least one full year before being nominated within the past ten years and shall have been a member in good standing for seven consecutive years immediately prior to running for office. Procedures for such an election are determined by the vote of the Executive Board and are located in the NBEA Policies and Procedures. The president-elect is not eligible for re-election.
The president-elect's term of office shall extend for one year beginning July 1. The president-elect shall:
serve as vice-president of NBEA;
perform the duties of the president in the absence of the president;
succeed to the office of president at the expiration of the president's term of office;
serve as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, unless otherwise specified by Executive Board; and
provide the finance committee with budget requests necessary to meet objectives in the strategic plan.
If the president-elect does not or cannot assume the office of president, the vacancy will be filled by the Executive Board/Committee appointment.
The secretary-treasurer must have served on the NBEA Executive Board.
The secretary-treasurer's term of office shall be for one three-year term, beginning July 1. The secretary-treasurer may serve a maximum of one, three-year terms unless otherwise authorized by the Executive Board. The secretary-treasurer shall:
assume special responsibility for the finances of NBEA;
prepare, in cooperation with the executive director and president, minutes of all meetings of NBEA and Executive Board;
provide financial and budget reports for NBEA with the assistance of the executive director. These reports shall be provided to the Executive Board at each scheduled meeting;
arrange for at least an annual auditing of the financial records of NBEA. The auditing firm shall be approved by the Executive Board upon recommendation from the secretary-treasurer;
assume responsibility, with the assistance of the National Headquarters staff, for the creation and maintenance of written procedures for the collection, disbursement, and reporting of NBEA funds.

Two-page vita highlighting leadership qualifications

Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to your leadership qualifications (each limited to one page in length)
All applicant credentials will be reviewed by the NBEA Nominating Committee. Applicant names will be shared with the NBEA Executive Board.
No more than three finalists will be selected by the NBEA Nominating Committee. Finalists for the position will be required to provide a 15-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session to the NBEA Executive Board at the spring board meeting (in person or virtual).
After the presentation, the NBEA Executive Board, via a secret ballot, will decide who will assume the role of NBEA President-Elect.
