There will be a streamlined convention schedule with an abundance of concurrent sessions that guarantee something for everyone, keynote speakers to spark your passion and drive, and new networking opportunities.
Virtual
Virtual registrants can attend sessions from the comfort of their own homes. Sessions will be broadcast live via ZOOM! Select whether you plan to attend the event live, in Kansas City, or virtually when you register!
All attendees will have access to session broadcasts, and most concurrent sessions will be recorded and posted for later viewing for convention registrants.
NBEA is proud to announce that Dr. Kevin Leman (pictured left) is one of the keynote presenters at the NBEA 2023 convention in Kansas City, April 3-6, 2023. NBEA Executive Director, Joe McClary said, "Dr. Leman will be able to provide time and sanity-saving tips for our teachers to support them during the most turbulent times to be a business teacher. Dr. Leman will provide insights and more importantly, inspiration, for making the most of our time with students." Dr. Leman's two sessions will be about "Why You Are The Way You Are" and "Shepherding Students - Seven Secrets for Managing Productive People." Dr. Leman has authored countless books that are highly relevant to business teachers including just a few listed below.

W!SE Certification Exam - Thursday, April 6
Optional ticket available with convention registration (onsite only)
In 2008, Working in Support of Education (W!SE) created a Certification in Personal Finance Test. The Test is intended for educators who are currently teaching or are interested in teaching personal finance to high school students, other educators, or adults. It is an online exam and has 75 multiple choice questions. All testing is administered online via the same secure and user-friendly online testing platform as our student test. Results are available immediately. The topics assessed are aligned to national and state standards on personal finance and educators are provided an excellent opportunity to build on their knowledge of personal finance. Educators who pass the Test earn a Certification in Personal Finance which validates their qualifications to teach personal finance.
W!se appreciates the opportunity to offer the Test to all educators attending the NBEA Convention on April 6th.
A webinar is scheduled on March 16th in which the content of the Test will be introduced, and attendees will be provided guidance for achieving success on the Test

Q: What meals does NBEA provide at the conference?
A: In recent years, NBEA has committed to providing our attendees with a premium experience and has increased the number of benefits including meals we provide as part of your convention experience.  NBEA will provide:
 - Lite breakfast Tuesday, Wednesday,  and Thursday
- Lunch Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday's Awards luncheon
- Lite refreshments on Tuesday evening for the welcome reception
Q: Is proof of COVID-19 vaccination required to attend?
A: No, local policies do not require proof of vaccination or other tests.
Q: Does NBEA have a refund policy regarding Covid-19?
A: NBEA will issue a full refund with documentation of a positive COVID-19 test. Otherwise, standard refund policies apply. Hotel cancellations should be addressed directly through Kansas City Marriott Downtown.
Q: With COVID-19 going away, why is this convention still hybrid?
A: The ability for teachers to travel is still tenuous and expected to be so for the future. NBEA wants to make its programming available to as many members as possible regardless of whether they can travel.
Q: Is the 212 Leadership Training the same as last year or is it different?
A: The content will be different in 2023 from last year. Each year NBEA focuses on different and needed areas of leadership development for our state, regional, and national leaders.
Q: Is the awards lunch included in the registration fee, I had to pay extra in the past?
A: Yes, the awards and leadership recognition luncheon is included in your registration fee so come and enjoy.
Q: How can I save money?
A: Take advantage of early bird pricing.  The attendees that pay the most to attend are the ones that register past deadlines.
