In person: New Orleans, Louisiana

The NBEA 2021 Annual Convention will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the New Orleans Marriott, March 30 – April 2. In 2021  we look forward to “mixing it up” with traditional events along with some new convention features. There will be a streamlined convention schedule with an abundance of concurrent sessions that guarantee something for everyone, keynote speakers to spark your passion and drive, and new networking opportunities including a Grand Welcome Reception to be held inside the Tradeshow on Wednesday evening, a combined NBEA/BERC Awards Luncheon, and evening networking events (tickets may be required).

Virtual
Virtual registrants can attend sessions from the comfort of their own homes. Sessions will be broadcast live via ZOOM! Select whether you plan to attend the event live, in New Orleans, or virtually when you register!

All attendees will have access to session broadcasts, and most concurrent sessions will be recorded and posted for later viewing (only available convention registrants). 

*The W!SE certification test will also be available for virtual attendees.

Business Education Association Leadership Training

New this year, as part of convention, is NBEA's 212 Degree Business Education Association Leadership Training on March 30, 2021 from 8 a.m. to noon. This is a free event with a conference registration.  Find out more.

Google Certified Educator Bootcamp

Friday, April 2, 2021, as part of NBEA's annual convention, NBEA has arranged for one of the best and most passionate trainers to prepare you for the Google Certified Educator Exam, and NBEA will include the Bootcamp and testing voucher (a $300 value) for only $10. Creole Queen Networking Dinner Cruise (Optional)

Business Education Networking Cruise (For in-person registrants only) - Step back into the glamour and romance of the riverboat era with a cruise aboard the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen! Experience the lively sounds of traditional New Orleans music while enjoying a lavish Creole Buffet in our elegantly appointed dining room. After dinner, and maybe a little dancing, enjoy a classic New Orleans cocktail and sweet Mississippi River breezes on our promenade deck as the city skyline slips by under a canopy of stars. This nighttime cruise is pure New Orleans.

What are the registration deadlines?

• Registration Opens – October 8, 2020

What is included in the cost of registration?

To better serve our attendees, the cost of registration this year is will include:

• Admittance to all sessions
• Welcome reception on Wednesday, March 31 or virtual networking session for those virtual attendees.
• NBEA/BERC combined Awards Luncheon on Friday, April 2
  

What events require additional/optional ticket purchase?

• Tickets to the Thursday night networking event aboard the Creole Queen can be purchased separately during registration.
• NBEA will be hosting the test for the W!SE Certification exam. Admittance for the exam will be $50.

Why does virtual attendance registration the same cost as live registration?

Regardless of whether you are attending virtually or in person, the sessions are being broadcast on location and NBEA is committing to substantive expense to facilitate a virtual option to the conference.  Although it may seem that the cost of putting on a virtual event could cost less than a live event, NBEA will also be incurring substantial costs for sponsoring a number of session facilitators who will be in charge of setting up and hosting each onsite session. However, virtual attendees can also consider the substantial savings by avoiding travel and lodging.

Cancellations

• Convention registration is required to attend any session, activity, or meal function. A $50 processing fee will be charged for registrations canceled by March 2, 2020. After that date, no refunds will be made – NO EXCEPTIONS.

I have a credit from last year’s convention, how do I register?

• If you opted to receive a credit for NBEA’s 2020 Convention, you will receive (via email) a coupon code to use for your registration in late October.  If you have not received a coupon code, please contact bchowning@nbea.org.

I have a credit from the 2020 convention, but I’m not going to attend the 2021 convention. What are my options?

• Registrants for the 2020 NBEA Convention in Boston were given the option to request a refund or a credit (if we received no response, the attendee received the credit option).
• Those who opted for credit were given access to the 2020 Virtual Convention and free registration for 2021.
• If you do not plan to attend the 2021 Convention in 2021, we highly recommend attending virtually. A refund on last year’s registration will be less the cost of the 2020 Virtual Convention ($149) and the cancellation fee ($50).

How is COVID being handled?

NBEA will monitor and follow the guidelines set forth by the CDC and the local guidelines in New Orleans. In addition, each registrant will be required to agree to a COVID disclaimer at the time of registration.
