Awards

The National Business Education Association (NBEA) provides esteemed awards for those involved in business education. Self-nominations for the awards below will not be accepted. Awards include the following:

  • Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contribution to Business Education by an Administrator or Supervisor of Business Education 
    The following will be considered for this award: 1.) Contributions to business education through teaching, 2.) participation held in local, state, regional and national professional association. 3.) Contributions through religious, civic, government, cultural and private business organizations. 4.) Contribution through major articles, refereed publications, non-refereed publications and research activities including grant proposals.  5.) Involvement in other activities. NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THIS AWARD.

  • Collegiate/University Teacher of the Year Award
    The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the collegiate/university level (including business education). If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years, and must be present at the annual convention.  NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THIS AWARD.

  • Post Secondary Teacher of the Year Award
    The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the post-secondary level. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years, and must be present at the annual convention. NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THIS AWARD.NBEA Awards

  • Middle School/Secondary Business Teacher of the Year Award
    The nominee must be primarily engaged in teaching business at the secondary level. If the nominee has dual responsibilities, at least 50 percent of those responsibilities at the major employing institution must be in teaching. The nominee’s contributions may have been made over an extended period of time, but the major impact must have occurred within three years prior to the nomination. The nominee must be a current member of NBEA and have been a member for a minimum of three (3) years, and must be present at the annual convention. NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THIS AWARD.

  • John Robert Gregg Award
    The John Robert Gregg Award is presented each year to an individual who has been widely recognized by colleagues and students as having made outstanding contributions to the advancement of business education. Individuals eligible for this award have been exemplary in business education leadership and active in NBEA for at least a decade.  NOMINATE SOMEONE FOR THIS AWARD.

  • Business Education Hall of Fame
    Nominations are currently being accepted for the 2022 Business Education National Hall of Fame ceremony to be held in the 2022 NBEA Convention in Chicago, IL. The primary purpose of the Hall of Fame is to pay tribute to those men and women who have made significant contributions to the field of business education. To be nominated, a candidate must have been an active business educator (teacher, lecturer, author, supervisor, publisher, or inventor) and have been deceased at least three years prior to the June 30, 2021 deadline. NBEA's Association for Business Teaching and Research (ABTR) Awards

  • Best Doctoral Dissertation Award
    ABTR requests nominations for doctoral dissertations and seminal studies related to business education. Research completed during the current year will be submitted and reviewed in following year and awarded at the next NBEA Award Ceremony at the Annual Convention. MAKE A NOMINATION NOW
     

  • Research Conference Best Paper Awards
    ABTR's Business Education Research Conference (BERC) is held each spring in conjunction with the convention of the National Business Education Association (NBEA). Presentation proposals are due by October 1 each year, and a review panel determines the best papers in two categories: (1) empirical research and (2) innovative instructional practices. Best papers are chosen from presentations made at the BERC. Those submitting a proposal for the BERC are automatically nominated for this award.

  • National Leadership Award
    The purpose of the ABTR Leadership Award is to recognize an ABTR member for outstanding leadership and service to the organization and the profession. The awardee will exemplify a commitment to promoting scholarship, leadership, and cooperation among professionals in education for business through leadership at the national level.
